Our foundation sits on a indigenous,
ancestral, harmonial way of living. We strive to learn, embrace and share the traditional,
sustainable ways of living in honor and respect to Ipalnemohuani - everything thats gives us life. The
ancient Anahuak (continental stretch from Alaska to Nicaragua) philosophy of Creation being dual (positive-negative,
male-female), enlightens us to know that we have to live our lives always in balance.
For centuries many
have continued to hear and see how the abuse to our sacred elements is causing catastrophic changes
to climate, dangers from our landfills, children being completely separated from nature and malnourished, wars over
natural resources, and nations to starve while a few MEN enjoy the riches. Awake your conscious and start making a
difference in your own home. We are humans before consumers and have to take personal, social responsibility for the
conveniences we allow ourselves. Excessive use of anything will cause a destructive pattern. We are
all guardians of our sacred Tonatzin Tlalli, mother earth and must live with respect for the rights
of our natural relatives.
Our grandparents instilled no borders. A bear is still a bear in
the North Pole where its fur is white or in warmer areas where its fur is black.
Lets use these ancestral traditions derived from the human eye to create the GLOBAL awareness that
we are all brothers and sisters vitally dependant on the same elements to survive:
Ancient wisdom
from the elders/Huehuetlatolli
Agua mi Sangre
Water my Blood
Tierra
mi Cuerpo
Earth my Body
Viento
mi Aliento
Wind my Breath
Fuego
mi Corazon/Espiritu
Fire my Heart/Spirit
Our brothers
and sisters continue to work the fields here in the U.S. and are also back in other parts of our homeland (Anahuak)
relying on seasonal rain and sunlight for energy, without the use of chemical pesticides or any other harm to
produce food. Disastrously, NAFTA and other free-trade arrangements have changed much of that. A wave of U.S. GMO seeds and
food products have freely passed through the U.S./Mexican border dislocating millions of farmers and creating the continuous wave
of starving harvest-dependent migrants who must sneak past the U.S./Mexican Wall to work pesticide infested fields.
Ironically, here in the U.S. our migrant
communities are the least to have access to the organic harvests they were accustomed to traditionally in their
homeland. A bridge needs to be built on fair trade and common trust to fill the gap of negligence
of not knowing what our labor and money is supporting.
We are working to build a tiangui/marketplace
that provides traditional natural products with the most sustainable, native ingredients, causing no scarring to
Tonantzin, our mother.
Our efforts to provide this common unity was strongly influenced by becoming parents. We are making
a commitment to become learners and sharers of the Huey Tlahtokan (Ancient Word) and help lead a respectful
path for raising our children. The tree would
not be, if it wasn't for the seed... When you make your next purchase, think about what or whom you may be supporting. Are you funding
a new nuclear plant, deforestation in the amazon, a military invasion? The list goes on and on.... Globalization has
reached the smallest villages thanks to consumers. Lets build a stronger community enriched with love and respect for
the many to come after us. Keep Mother Earth and all other elements alive.
